TYRO Help Guide for Parents and Students
📱 TYRO Overview
TYRO is the school management app used by Elphin Community College to support communication between school, parents/guardians and students.
Parents/guardians can use TYRO to view student information, view timetables and submit absence requests. Students can use TYRO to view their timetable and school information.
🔴 Important
Please use the same email address that received the TYRO invitation from the school. If you cannot find the invitation email, check your Junk or Spam folder.
🔐 How to Log in to TYRO

Step 1: Open your TYRO email invitation and download the TYRO School app from the App Store or Google Play.
Step 2: Open the app and select Sign up.
Step 3: Enter your email address and select Send verification code.
Step 4: Paste the verification code from your email and select Verify code.
Step 5: Create your new password.
Step 6: Log in to TYRO using your email address and new password.
Step 7: Create a passcode and choose your notification preferences.
Tip: The verification code is not your password. It is a one-time code used to verify your email address.
👨👩👧 TYRO for Parents/Guardians
Parents/guardians can use TYRO to support communication with the school and keep up to date with important student information.
- View your child’s timetable.
- Submit absence requests.
- View students associated with your account.
- Receive notifications from the school.
- Keep your contact email up to date with the school office.
👩🎓 TYRO for Students
Students can use TYRO to view their timetable and keep organised during the school week.
- Log in using the school invitation process.
- View your daily timetable.
- Scroll across dates to check different school days.
- Use TYRO to help organise books, equipment and homework.
Note: Student access may differ from parent/guardian access. Some features, such as submitting absence requests, are for parents/guardians only.
📝 How Parents/Guardians Submit an Absence Request
Step 1: Log in to TYRO and select your child from the home screen.
Step 2: Select the Absence Request tab at the top of the screen.
Step 3: Press the plus icon at the bottom right of the screen.
Step 4: Select Absence Request.
Step 5: Fill in the date, full day or partial day, reason for absence and any note you wish to include.
Step 6: Select Send Request.
Attendance reminder: Please submit absence explanations as soon as possible. If an absence is due to illness over a sustained period, the school may request supporting documentation.

- Parents and students should download the TYRO School app.
- Use the email invitation from the school to set up your account.
- Parents can view timetables and submit absence requests.
