Wellbeing Week
Wellbeing Week gives students and staff opportunities to focus on positive mental health, connection, friendship, activity and belonging.
Amber Flag
Elphin Community College is proud to have received the Amber Flag, recognising our work to promote positive mental health and wellbeing in our school community.
One Good School
Through One Good School, students, staff and parents/guardians are encouraged to build a shared responsibility for youth mental health and wellbeing.
Student Support
Students can speak to a trusted adult, Year Head, Guidance Counsellor, teacher, Deputy Principal or Principal if they need support.
Amber Flag
The Pieta Amber Flag Initiative recognises schools and other organisations that create healthy, inclusive environments that support mental wellbeing. It encourages schools to promote positive mental health, reduce stigma and support students to seek help when needed.
Receiving the Amber Flag is a visible reminder that wellbeing matters and that students are not alone. At Elphin Community College, we are committed to continuing this work through student voice, awareness activities, positive relationships and a caring school environment.
One Good School
One Good School is a Jigsaw initiative that supports the mental health and wellbeing of young people by encouraging a whole-school approach. It recognises that students, staff and parents/guardians all have a role to play in creating a supportive school community.
At Elphin Community College, this work supports our wider focus on student wellbeing, belonging, positive relationships and help-seeking.
Creativity, Performance and School Spirit
Wellbeing is not only about sport. Creativity, performance, student leadership and shared whole-school experiences also help students feel connected and proud of their school.
Junk Kouture
Junk Kouture encourages creativity, sustainability, teamwork and confidence. Students design, create and perform using recycled and repurposed materials.

How Students Can Get Involved

Students do not have to be experienced to take part. Trying something new, supporting others and being willing to get involved are all important parts of school life.
Student Wellbeing and Support
If a student is worried, upset or finding things difficult, they should speak to a trusted adult as soon as possible. Help is available in school through teachers, Year Heads, Guidance, school leadership and the wider student support team.
In an urgent situation, students should seek immediate help from a trusted adult or emergency services.
