Thank you for visiting our website. Please take time to familiarise yourself with some information about our school. You are most welcome to come along and visit on our Open Days.

Fáilte róimh go léir go dtí Coláiste Pobail Ail Finn, Ail Finn, Co. Ros Comáin.

Nestled in the heart of rural Roscommon, our school fosters community values. Elphin Community College is a place where everyone belongs and our school boasts a warm, welcoming atmosphere, where positive relationships between our staff, students and parents/guardians are of paramount importance. Our students are the heartbeat of our school and ensuring their wellbeing is something we take huge pride in.

Our school is proud of its record in the provision of quality education to families in Elphin and the surrounding area. This is a record that the school community intends to maintain. Our primary aim is to encourage each student of Elphin Community College, to be a self-confident, inquiring, tolerant and positive young person. By the time each student leaves the school, we hope for them to be a well-rounded character with an independent mind, an individual who respects the difference of others. A shared vision for the school is held by staff, students and parents, which has created a very strong, caring and cohesive community based on the values of love, respect and compassion for others.

We have a dedicated, dynamic and committed staff who inspire our students to succeed to the highest level possible, both academically and personally. We promote the highest academic standards in Elphin Community College with a high percentage of students going to Universities and Third Level institutions in both Ireland and abroad. In our school, students are provided with a wealth of opportunities to challenge themselves, their classmates and indeed to extend their knowledge and understanding. We are proud to offer a progressive and diverse academic curriculum as well as an extensive range of extra-curricular activities, which promote the holistic development of our students.

Pastoral care is important to us at Elphin Community College. Every effort is made to ease the transition from Primary to Post Primary School for all students and we have put in place extra measures this year given the unsettling global crisis we are all living through. As a parent, I understand fully the apprehension you may feel as your child begins their preparations for this new exciting chapter in their lives. As always, the best ambassadors for our school are our students and with that in mind we invite you to visit our school, engage with staff, parents/guardians and students and see for yourself what Elphin Community College has to offer you.

We are confident that Elphin Community College will provide the best possible holistic education of the highest quality for your son or daughter and we are fully committed to supporting you and your child in making this choice. We recognise how important the choice of secondary school is for parents/guardians and children alike, and as you open the first page of this new chapter, we are here to offer every support you need.

I look forward to meeting with you and your child.
