Every student is actively encouraged to take part in all sporting activities & all are offered the opportunity to be part of the team. This all-inclusive approach is a key to both the successes we have achieved and to the individual confidence building which forms such a vital part of their holistic education.

At Elphin Community College all students are timetabled for a weekly games period. In addition, there are extra-curricular training sessions for team sports. There is also a range of programmes available for other non-team based sporting activity including; Swimming; Gym; Outdoor Pursuits; Canoeing; Orienteering; Surfing & other water sports.

While each individual plays a vital role in every team at Elphin Community College, it must also be recognised that in each area of education there are individuals who excel. We are proud of our Sports Stars and in recent times they have achieved great success. Two of the Roscommon Minor All Ireland winning Gaelic Football team in 2006 were students here. One student represented the school on the Connacht Colleges Team which played in the U.S. in April 2006.
